Home From Work Gemini first met Gabe Bolkosky in 2000 when they collaborated with the Phoenix Ensemble on a concert and our subsequent recording, "The Orchestra is Here to Play." Gabe was then concertmaster of the Phoenix Ensemble orchestra. (You can hear his magnificent playing on the intro to Deli on that recording.) After that concert, San and Gabe formed a friendship and looked for more music they could play together. Home From Work is the result. Picture a violin, guitar and voice, blend in some serious credentials in classical and folk music, add a common love of jazz, mix in some virtuoso playing and a genuine sense of ease on stage, and you've got Home From Work. |

San says, "My first love was classical music, especially opera, and I've also admired jazz for a long time. But my main work for the last thirty plus years has been as a folk musician. Everything I sing, and play on guitar for that matter, comes through all of those filters. Gabe's background is in classical music, and he has some extremely serious chops in that field, but he has also studied extensively and immersed himself in jazz."
